This Mermaid Trip is the greatest adventure for all water enthusiasts. Activities awaits you here, such as swimming in mermaid tails, underwater photo shoots, workshops on holding your breath and underwater modelling as well as boat trips. You also have a high chance of swimming with marine life such as manatees, guitar sharks, turtles and even dolphins. In addition, you can enjoy the facilities and food in the 5-star resort “Malikia”. Furthermore, there is of course enough time to relax. And while most tourists take home t-shirts and cheap airport jewellery as souvenirs, participants enrolled in this workshop will leave with custom photo and video content. What are you waiting for? What are we doing at this Mermaid Trip?

During our mermaid trip you not only learn new techniques, but also expand your portfolio with breath-taking underwater photos. This retreat is dedicated to creating stunning ocean-inspired art. In addition, you will have an unforgettable time in the open sea and hopefully meet numerous sea creatures. Below is a rough schedule for our mermaid camp. Please note, however, that there may be small deviations and changes.

Day 1 (Saturday):

Check-in at the “Malikia” resort in Abu Dabbab. After the introduction round and a general briefing, you will have time to get to know the other participants and to explore the resort and the surrounding area. There may be a small practice in the evening in which we practice relaxation and breathing techniques.

Day 2 (Sunday):

After breakfast there will be a lecture by Mermaid Kat on the subject of “underwater modelling”. Here you not only get helpful tips on posing in front of the underwater camera, but you can also benefit from Kat’s experience as an underwater stunt woman. Then we will carry out the first underwater shoots in the hotel’s own bay. Here you have the chance to meet manatees, guitar sharks and turtles. In the evening there is a small feedback session and then you can end the evening comfortably at a hotel bar or with a walk through the complex.

Day 3 (Monday):

Today we take a boat tour to the reef “Shaab Samadai” or also called “Dolphin House”. Here we have a high possibility of seeing dolphins and if we are lucky, we might even get to swim with them. There is never a “guarantee” of meeting certain marine life in the open sea, but this reef is famous for dolphins. The dolphins in this area are used to meeting snorkelers. On the other hand, they rarely meet mermaids. For this reason, their curiosity often increases when they meet mermaids and mermen and thus the chance of them swimming with us is not too small.

Day 4 (Tuesday):

After we spent yesterday on a boat tour, we use today for further training units and photo shoots on the house reef and in the hotel complex.

Day 5 (Wednesday):

Today we take another boat tour and increase our chance to swim with dolphins or other marine life.

Day 6 (Thursday):

In contrast to the previous day, we spend today in the hotel complex. Training units and underwater shoots in the bay directly in front of the hotel are waiting for you. Let’s see if the turtles and manatees want to play with mermaids today.

Day 7 (Friday):

As a grand finale to this mermaid trip, we will take the boat out again today. Here you have another chance to meet dolphins or other marine life. In the evening we meet at the hotel bar to celebrate goodbye with those who are leaving after the first week.

Day 8 (Saturday):

Those who came for the weeklong Mermaid Trip are heading home today. Those who, on the other hand, have booked the additional week as an extension can plan their day individually and really enjoy their vacation in Egypt.

Days 9-14:

You can fill your days with activities such as scuba diving, snorkelling or relaxing at the pool. You also have the chance to join a diving course or a tour to the temples in Luxor. Join

Who is the Mermaid Trip in Egypt for?

Basically, everyone is welcome at our mermaid trip who has a passion for the underwater world and wants to gain new experiences. From first timers to experienced pros and seasoned mermaids, this trip will not disappoint! We want to create a place and time where like-minded water lovers can meet and exchange, learn new things, have an unforgettable time and go home with breath-taking photos.

To take part in this mermaid trip, you must be able to swim well and safely. In addition, we recommend a general level of fitness, because swimming in the sea can be exhausting. No experience in freediving, scuba diving, mermaid swimming or underwater modelling is required. Our team will assist and guide every step of the way regardless of experience level.

Since we firmly believe that mermaids and mermen come in all sizes, shapes, colours, ages and genders, there are no visual criteria to meet. However, participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Photo Shoots and Underwater Shootings during the Mermaid Trip

In addition to the fun, the connection with nature, learning and the exchange of experiences, photo shoots are of course the focus of this trip. We would like to help you to expand your portfolio with mermaid and underwater modelling pictures. In order to achieve this, our experienced team is at your side at all times. Throughout the week you will receive tips and tricks for underwater posing and practise breath hold techniques. You will also get constant feedback on your posing in front of the camera. Because of this, we are sure that you will receive outstanding images. After the trip, you can choose your 10 favourite photos (and more if you want to purchase additional ones). Shortly afterwards, you will receive the fully edited, high-resolution version. You can then use these photos for private use and self-promotion, for example on social media or on your websites. Please note that a model release must be signed which allows us to use the photos too.

Can my partner come to the Mermaid Trip?

Of course, partners are very welcome at Mermaid Week Egypt. They can either take part in all activities or just join those that interest them. If your partner is not interested in photo shoots, he/she can still come with us. While we are shooting, he/she can go swimming or snorkelling, for example. Furthermore, both the diving centre and the hotel complex have other activities to offer.

Of course, partners also have the option of choosing 10 photos from the trip. They can also assign these to the participating partner.

Alternatively, your partner can arrive for the second week. This way you can fully concentrate on the activities offered during Mermaid Meek and plan the second week as you would like.

Information about Malikia Resort Abu Dabbab and the surrounding area

The Malikia Resort Abu Dabbab is an ideal hotel right on the beach in Marsa Alam. The shape of the hotel is similar to the bow of a ship sailing into the Red Sea from the front. In addition, the tip of the hotel perfectly rounds off the illusion of a luxurious cruise ship. What does the Mermaid Trip in Egypt cost?

The cost of the 7-day mermaid holiday to Egypt (September 16-23, 2023) is 2,250 Euros (around USD 2,600) per person. Optionally, you can extend your stay at the Malikia Resort Abu Dabbab for another week. In this case, the cost of the 14-day trip (16.09.-30.09.2023) is 2,799 Euros (around USD 3,250) per person. In the second week, however, there are no inclusive activities on our part. Accordingly, you can design the week as you want. Our team will certainly be planning more activities that week. If you are interested, you are welcome to take part in these activities for an additional charge.

To secure your spot, we require a deposit of 1.000 Euros/USD per person (the deposit is non-refundable). The open balance is due 6 weeks before the trip.
